So as I'm now going to try fishless cycling, I thought maybe you guys could help me get some stocking ideas together.

The tank is a 125L ROMA to give you an idea of the size.

I would like colourful fish but not really tiny ones such as guppies. I don't mind a few but would prefer slightly larger fish full of colour.

I'm not really good with fish names although I am doing my research so pictures would also be a huge help.

Thanks

You could do up a cichlid tank. They get bigger than some of the tropical community fish and come in many bright colors. If you're looking for some community friends that are larger, try: pearl gourami, congo tetra, pleco's, singapore wood shrimp, emperor tetra, bleeding heart tetra, green corydora, swordtails, betta(yes you can keep in a community tank). That's just off the top of my head but there are sooo many more!

Oh sorry, I just realized you're in litres and not gallons....not sure what the conversion is off the top.

It's about 35 US gallons.

Oh, shoot, well I would stick with smaller community fish then. I had a 30gallon with rummynose and cardinals and it looked really great. Many of the tetras will stay on the smaller side (1.5 inches).

Was hoping for something a little bigger than tetras I,ll have to just keep looking into it I guess.

My standard stocking suggesting for a tank that size (80cm) is..
* 15 tetra (cardinals should grow to 5+cm, or a full bodied tetra would look "bigger")
* 1m 2f Apistogramma of one species (some of these can grow up to 7-8cm with age)
* 8-10 Corys or 1 up to 5 inch pleco

But getting the fish to grow that large requires a lot more care than just getting them to live and may not be easy in a tank that short.
