Okay, I need some ideas for my 20g tank. I already have 2 swords and 3 red platys. What do you think I should put in next? My ideas were a small school of neons or a nice center-piece fish.

I would skip the larger fish, as they make quite a bit of mess in a smaller tank. Schooling fish are always fun. I like Zebra Danios personally.

a shoal of tetra would look nice, may i suggest cardinal? a few bottom dwellers possabily aswell, corys i would think are the best choice, or otos. what about shrimps.

I would just add a schooling fish, maybe harlequin rasboras.

Why not wait a few months and let your livebearers stock the tank for you? Cheaper IMO, and just as nice. You could have a group of a smaller corydora for activity in the bottom. The swords and platies will probably interbreed and you will probably end up with a hybrid (though most swords have a smidge of platy in them already). They'll look like chubby swordtails with shorter swords.

I don't know, just a thought.

Sorry I didn’t register, I would trade the livebearers for them (or money off)
But it depends on what you want in your tank?

It's my personal opinion but I just don't think there is anything more enjoyable than livebearers. I've kept them for years and I love to sit and watch them. The births are always a nice experience as well. I would keep your livebearers and add a few corys and watch them multiply...and they will , rapidly!

I have a 60 litre and a 180 litre and both are full of Guppies , shrimp, albino cory and one crab. My tank is also planted which adds to the enjoyment of things.

This is a pic of the 180 litre tank

Theyre plecos L134 is a leopard frog pleco,i personally think the nicest looking one! Dunno bout the other 1 lol

Thanks, those were all nice ideas. I hve to think of something very colorful that is not orange or redish. I do like liveberers but I would also like some kind of other fish. I'll probably be going with schooling tetras and maybe a bottom dweller.

Everytime I hear L-134 I want to cry!

Gorgeous fish, I paid decent money for a wild caught specimen but I couldn't for the life of me get him/her to feed and I think you can guess the rest! :rip:

Unfortunately, most freshwater are yellows, oranges, or reds for colors. Blue is not that common among freshwater that I have seen, except in a few fish that don't get along with other fish. That is why I went with Panda Cories. I like the contrasting colors on the fish.
