One of my new tanks is 2ft wide x 18" deep x 2ft wide.  Currently it has 10 Ember Tetras, 3 Black Venezuelan Corys and a pair of farolwella (twig fish) in it.  I'd like to get some more of the black corys but other than that I'm not sure what else to put in this tank.

I feel it would benefit from some bigger fish.  Angel fish would look great but I think the tanks too small.  I am hoping that the twigs and the black venz might breed at some point so ideally something that won't interfere with that.

Does anyone have any thoughts?  Advice about stocking level would be appreciated too.

That comes out as 164L/43G.

I'd get those extra corys and then add a pair/trio of gouramis. Three-spot or pearl would look nice IMO.
You would still be able to add more, but if you're planning on the corys breeding then it would be best to have it understocked.

I've just realised it's years since I kept any gouramis and I've never kept pearls.  Wouldn't they eat eggs given chance?
