wonder if you can help me? I go on another (non-fish!) forum quite frequently and am trying to help someone on there sort out their tank.
It sounds like a catalogue of disaters to be perfectly honest but I need to try and help. To give you some idea she posted asking why all her sons fish were dying. It turns out that son had dropped half a can of fish food into the tank and not said anything. Then in a bid to help she did an 80% water change and washed the filter under the running tap.
So needless to say everthing pretty much died overnight.
She is now left with a 60 litre tank with a 5cm red finned shark in situ. She is refusing to rehome shark as she says 9yr old son will be unhappy but that they are prepared to upgrade when necessary - of course this is a very subjective thing and the ideal would be for shark to go now to someone who could look after him.
Anyway - she has asked what tank mates he can have as only having one fish is boring. She said they had tetras before and rummies but want something different this time. Any suggestions?
Oh and apparently they also had a bala shark and a male betta in the tank too - all of which they were told would be fine by the wonderful people at their LFS so I really would like to give her some ideas so that she doesnt go in there and listen to them again.
