Hi guys, just bought a new tank and would like some stocking advice.

I have been looking around and got an idea of what I want in there.

Gonna go for 6x Tiger barbs, 1x Bristle nose catfish, 5x neon tetra, 5x other type of colourful tetra type fish, any ideas on that welcome. A couple of shrimp to stir the sand and 1 other type of fish that can be on its own that doesnt get too big any advice again please.

Would this lot be ok together?

THanks

Yup tank size and dimensions are a must before we can advise on stocking.

what shrimp did you have in mind? I'd expect you'd need a relativley large sort to be OK with tiger barbs, they're pretty nippy and could easily bully small shrimp.

also be careful with the barbs and the neon's and other shoal, small fish need to be fairly resiliant to stand up to tiger barbs. Personally I wouldn't recommend them for peaceful community fish at all.

there are some tetra's like serpae's which are a bit more agressive, they would probably be better.

Just look for fish which are about 2"+ and medium agressive. There's loads of options

Ah ok, will do. Thanks for advice.

Would a red tail black shark be ok with tiger barbs and other med-agressive fish? They dont get too big and look cool
