Stocking For My Tank

Ive been thinking about fish for my nano for a while and went to the lfs yesturday which gave me a few ideas

The tank
29x16x14 (LxHxW in inches)
19 UK gallons (23 US gallons, 86 litre)

The sump holds 90 litres

2X Clown fish
1xFirefish - ive seen these are meant to be kept in a 30 gallon, but also seen the don't go much more than 10inch from there cave?
1x Mandarin Fish (as normal with these will have to wait for a good few months and start a culture)

Would the above be ok?

I would get the 2 clowns first, then the Firefish, Then after 4-5 months get the mandarin.

do you recon there might be room to fit another fish in there? Im not planning to but its just if i was to see a really nice fish thats suitable for my tank

You know my views:

2 x clowns in a 19 uk gallons is pushing it, i wouldn't put them in

firefish - yes fine
mandy - yes fine when you have a mature pod culture going

i always thought that the smaller clowns were suitable for a 15 gallon reef?


i woulndt risk a mandy without a culture.

19 gallons is pushing it?

i once tried putting a baby clown in a 2.5 g it was perfectly fine and happy. It grew to be about 1inch then i placed it in a 65g.

well a 6 or 8 usg won tank of the month on RC and it had a single clown in it. I don't think it could've won if people thought the tank was wrong for it's inhabitants....just my thoughts

after looking on different sites, alot of people keep them in nano's.

In my tank there is plenty of space/open area if they want it.

I will probably still get the clowns as most places say there ok for 20us gallon tanks. I will keep an eye on them and if they start to look stressed they will be moved asap.

wow. you're tank is 24 usg. Mine is a 29g. Yea your tank is big enough for a small pair (ie percula, ocelarris).
