At the beginning of last week I noticed that 3 of my neon tetras had white spot so I separated them to their own tank and started to treat them for this unfortunately none of the 3 have made it which is a really shame. I have kept a very close eye on my other fish in the tank and none of them have got it. I separated the tetras last Monday morning and there are no white spots on any other fish and there has been no deaths in the tank for months. I was wondering if I could now go and rescue those 3 panda Cory's from the pet shop that I saw them in if they are still there.

My stocking now is
2 apistogramma cacatuoides (1,1,0)
4 honey gourami (1,3,0)
5 neon tetra (0,0,5)
10 panda Cory's (0,0,10)

There used to be 5 honeys but I took one make back to the shop and obviously there used to be 8 neon tetras from Tom

If you had Ich in the tank you should've treated the whole tank not just the affected fish as the Ich will still be in your main tank.
If you introduce those pandas which you said are not in the best condition then they're likely to get infected.
I would wait & observe your tank for any further outbreaks before thinking of introducing more fish

Ok thank you but I thought a week period with no deaths and no signs or symptoms of white spot in the tank would be ok. Also i have done 3 75% water changes to get rid of anything that could be in the tank from Tom

Also when I know that the infection has gone would the tank allow me to add the 3 panda Cory's if they are still there from Tom

They only have 1 Cory left so my new stocking is going to be

2 apistogramma cacatuoides
4 honey gourami
6 neon tetra
12 panda Cory's

I'm going to find 1 other panda Cory to go with the one that I have rescued and have added a neon tetra to take them up to 6. This gives me 24 fish in my tank and that's it fully stocked now from Tom

I would agree with Lillefishy's advice. If you had whitespot, then it is highly likely that the whitespot will return. That said, if none of your other fish suffered symptoms, then I'd say it probably wasn't whitespot.

Ok maybe it wasn't white spot but whatever it was has gone now as I have not had a death in that tank since last Monday and what disease could it of been as it only affected the neon tetras from Tom
