wud this setup be allright for a 10g via aqua tank, or wud i b overstocked?:

3 Platys,
5 Neon tetras,
3 Pygmy corydoras,
+ instead of having 3 corys, wud it b better to have two ottos? as i realy like them, there so cute!

the tanks dimensions: length= 15" width= 9.75" height= 15" , its quite tall so dont know about stocking levels?

.. this is probably an annoying question i know sorry :( and any ideas on other fish for my 10g wud be appreciated! thanks! :D in advance. :fun:

anybody got any ideas or thoughts..help please..................................

yh some1 answered lol! mmm so if i kept the pygmy corys insetad wud the stoking b ok? or is it overstocked or mayb i cud add a couple more?

i think that will be ok as long as you don't over do it with plants and dacor. Maybe have a planted cornner of the tank. Not sure about the ottos though never kept them. just make sure you do water changes once a week but i think that would be fine.

i love those neon dwarf rainbows tho, cud i keep a small group of them instead of cardinals?

like:

- 4 Dwarf neon rainbows
- 3 Pygmy corydoras
- 3 Platys

- im getting annoying now!! lol just dont wanna go overstocking but its hard not overstocking!

Dwarf neon rainbows according to my book grow to 2.4 inches, so a school of them would quickly overstock your tank on their own. Have a feeling they would probably need more swimming space too. I would go for:

3-4 pygmy corys (hastatus)
and
6 small tetras: neons or glowlights or black neons

Or

5 male platies
3-4 amano shrimps

Or

1 honey gourami
and either 4-5 corys habrosus or a small school of tetras

or a reshuffling of the above.

cheers dwarf gouriami, i was astonished wen i saw this fish website were some1 was keeping 2 plecos, 7 swordtails, 3 glowlight tetras and 2 loaches in a 10gallon tank! yh i love those rainbows but they need space :( ill probably get:

3 pygmy corydoras,
5/6 neons,
and mayb if there is enuf space, just mayb get a honey gouiami! coz i wanted a really pretty fish in the tank as well!..im not saying the others arnt lol! cheers! :D

but i was wondering..if i was to keep a male betta in there..wat other fish cud goin with it? iv been told platies?

Dwarf neon rainbows is a no.. You need to keep a maximum of 1 male in 15 gallons else the females will get over exhausted and die. They also need a lot more swimming space then neons.

I think your stock looks good except that you will be getting a lot of platy babies in the near future :p and you must be prepared for them once it happens.. its possible that they dont survive but if they do then you cannot keep letting them grow in the tank and adding on to load.
