I was hoping to get some advice on stocking my tank. I'll just get right into it.

Here is what I already have:
  • 6 Skirt Tetra
    • 2 Black long finned
    • 4 "White"
  • 2 Blue Rams (male)
Here is what I would like to add to that
  • 2 more Blue Rams (females from another brood)
  • 1 Med Pleco (4-5 inch depends on what I can find locally)
  • 2 Angelfish*
*This is where I'm unsure. I really would like to have some angelfish, but I'm not sure if they'd get along with my tetra.

Current tank setup
  • 38 Gallon tank planted
  • Sand substrate
  • Lots of filtration
  • Plenty of caves and hiding spots
I have a couple more ideas, but I really like this one best, but I don't want to get the angels home and find out that they won't work with my tetra. Any advice is welcome.

Angel really need a 40gal, they get aggressive when spawning, also they will eat smaller fish that can fit in their mouths, plecs are messy fish so make sure your filter is up to the job.

Would you consider skipping the pleco (which are messy) and get 5 corydoras catfish (delightful, active, adorable and will love the sand...) or a few oto cats (small, attractive and great algae eaters) insted? Angelfish are possible with black skirts (which BTW, I love - maybe get a few more of the normal type... males are beautiful when they display aren't they?) as these tetras are quite large but I personaly wouldn't risk it. I would say gouramies (pearls - stunning and quite large but peaceful - or dwarfs - smaller but very colorful and peaceful, can be fragile) are better options - or you could get a pair of moonlights (larger gouramies at a max of around 7 inches, they look silver but under good light display a nice purple sheen that's offset by the thred-like yellow/orange ventrals beautifuly, quite peaceful too.

Thanks for the input. I have considered getting the cory cats too, I was just a little worried about there small size, being bottom dwellers would my Rams pick on them?
As for filtration I believe that I'm on the "over filtered" end of the spectrum. I am currently using an in tank filter rated for up to 50G and a HOB filter rated for 35G. Pushing a total of 335G/hr. The HOB filter will be moved by the end of December though, I will be adding it to the 10G guppy tank I'm setting up for my fiancé, and replacing both filters with a canister filter Rena XP2.
The tetra are really beautiful, I love it when they school together. And my thought is they would probably do that a lot more with the Angels in there with them.
It'll be probably a month or so before I am ready to add them though. I want to get the catfish and the females for my rams first.
