I separated my male and female opaline gourami last month and put the male in a 30g tank while I left the female in the 20g. The tanks been up and about for a few weeks with the male gourami and successfully seeded filter media into the new tank. No NH3 spikes or anything, he seems to be swimming about very merrily. So now I want to add a few more fish in, of course no other gourami. I went to the LFS and got a list of potential candidates. I looked all of them up to see their adult sizes and water preferences, but I may still have missed something.
Tank stats:
30g square with lid
External 50g filter
Moderately planted, fake floating plant
Whitish fine sand substrate
One opaline gourami (male)
My tap water (extremely consistent):
0 NH3
0 NO2
5 NO3
High GH/KH
7.3 PH
A pair of Peacock Gudgeons would look so cute.
If possible I'd like to include them along with just one species of cory and/or either the panchax or celebese if my stocking will allow it. I'd actually like to get at least one schooling/shoaling species as well...
Cory's:
x6 Blueberry (???)
x6 Punctatus
x2 or more Gold dream panchax (are they shoaling or territorial? I couldn't really find much info on them) or x8 Celebese rice fish (Oryzias celebensis)?
Other fish I saw:
Gossei cory
Raubati cory
Rummynose tetra
Black phantom tetra
Longfin Red minor tetra
Red eye submarine tetra
Reticulated hillstream loach
Hillstream loach
Devario sondhii
Scarlet badis badis
Gold cobra endler
American Flagfish
