Well basically i have a 60cm x 30cm x 30cm tank (54 liters, probably around 46 after displacement- 12 US gallons, 10 Imperial gallons) it currently has 5 guppies in it, and next week im hoping to add 6 neon tetra. I basically wanted to know if this would be fully stocked, or if i could add a few corydoras to the tank. I dont really mind because i intend to upgrade relatively soon to a rio 125, but id still like to get them. Please give me an answer based on the stocking levels for the smaller tank, ignore the fact i will be upgrading.

Thanks :)

Aleem.

The rule with community fish that stay relatively small (1 or 2 inches) is that you can have 1 inch of fish per gallon. So yes, you are pretty well stocked, seeing as guppies can get quite big.

If you can wait until you upgrade tanks it would be better for you and your fish. As upgrading can cause some fish to die sometimes when water parameters change quickly or even temperature fluctuations. So i would suggest just waiting till you upgrade to a bigger tank. As for now though for the 10gallon you could get 4 corydora's if you would like. They would fit in nicely with a tank of 5 guppies.
