will a community tank (planted) of 60 gallons with the following fish work?: 8 pygmy cory's, 2 female bettas, 3 platys, 1 opaline gourami, 5 zebra otos, 1 cherry fire shrimp, 2 peacock gudgeons, 2 angels, and 6 glass catfish. Total maximum inches of fish is 62 inches.

Not completely sure. Seems like you would be pushing close to the limit, but ultimately it is your choice. I'm sure they will all learn to get along just fine. :dunno:

Dont know for sure how big the glass catfish get..I havent done any research what so ever on them. I never was interested in them.

they get six inches and like 2 school and need a strong current thats all i know
sry i did not help

You need more then 2 female bettas, in that size of tank I would get like 6+. Also, bettas and gouramis don't tend to get along, but with a larger tank it might be ok, wouldn't chance it though personally.

That's the third time you've posted that message. Give it a break.

Very.

I agree with MegTheFish about the bettas. Female bettas are aggressive amongst themselves, so you either need to keep just one by itself, or 4+ to spread the aggression around. The gouramis are a little risky to mix with bettas, but I think the tank is large enough that it might work, assuming you provide plenty of hiding spots. Just keep a close eye on them and have a plan B if they're getting too aggressive with one-another ;)

Yeah, IMO Glass "Catfish" dont even look like a catfish. I think they are called glass because you can see thru them. From what Ive heard, they dont make very good aquarium fish, but I could be wrong :dunno:

EDIT: Did a google search and found out they get 6" :S Also they dont acclimatise very well, which is why its hard to keep them I guess?

maybe ill skip the cats. about the bettas, theyve been in a 12 gallon for about 7 months now, no nipping or fighting since the first couple of weeks

Its your judgement really, if they've been getting along then go ahead and try it. Just remember that sometimes bettas can live together for weeks, months, even years without one glance to each other, and will one day start fighting. For example, I had two female bettas in a 10 gallon, they got along great for the first month or so, they would actually swim side by side and everything. One day I came home and my poor girl was shredded to bits by the new smaller girl (who I thought was more timid then my other girl, guess I was proved wrong!). My older girl has lived with everything from goldfish ( :S ) to tetras and has never hurt anybody, I think that if I were able to find a peaceful betta like her they could live together. Maybe you have the perfect pair? LoL
