Hi fish forum, my tank is in the process of cycling so its been 4 weeks since i started. Id just like to know if you could keep 6-7 tiger barbs, a rainbow shark, and a blood parrot cichlid together. Also i'd like to know if i could keep 3 clown loaches with them. I know they can grow to 12 inches but they are slow growers. So when they get too big for my 55 i can relocate them to somewhere better and more spacious. Thank you in advamce if you responded. P.S Great site for aquarium fish.

Hi Markoi! Welcome to TFF!

I would think it's an odd combination with the tiger barbs, the shark, and the blood parrot, but I don't see any strong reasons why it wouldn't work as long as the tiger barbs are too big to be eaten by the blood parrot. The only real problem I see is with the shark. When they start to mature, they become very territorial. This isn't that big of a problem for the tiger barbs as they can quickly get away. The blood parrot may be a bit slow and prone to bullying from the shark, but don't reserve judgment from just my input here, there are many members that have kept both species and can possibly confirm or correct what I have said here.
