I plan on getting a 50cm cube tank and need some help stocking it. I've seen some great looking gouramies, blue ones. Would they be suitable for this size tank. If so, how many and what could I add with them. I prefer having a school of one type (like 15 or so T-Rasboras) and a couple showpiece (like gouramies).
Any ideas, please help. But not goldfish.

Please help.

Rifaat.

Suitable gouramis for your tank would be the Honey (up to 6cm) or the Dwarf or Croaking (8cm). Certainly steer clear of the Three Spot/Opaline as they get too big and the males are territorial (I've found this out, hence I've got a new tank).

Bare in mind with the Dwarf that they are prone to a bacterial disease - I used to have two beautiful boys but they both died of it (no other fish in the aquarium was affected). Very sad to watch and couldn't do anything for them.

I'd recommend the Honeys. Maybe two of these and some tetras?
