I realize that not many fish or plants can fit in a 2.5 gallon but I would like to stock it anyway. Any suggestions? I have a few ideas of my own, and I would like an opinion.

Stocking- Shrimp Only Tank
- 5 Red Cherry Shrimp
- 2 Amano Shrimp
- Java Moss
- Java Fern
- Dwarf Riccia Moss
- Driftwood
- Sand substrate

Stocking- Betta Tank
- 1 Male betta
or
- 3 female bettas
or
- 1 baby betta
- Same plants as above
- Gravel substrate
- Driftwood

Again, please feel free to give your opinion or offer suggestions!

Thanks,
CF

No to the female betta tank. The females will fight. A sorority needs to be a minimum of 10g short term, 15g-20g long term. They also need to be in groups of 5+

I would do a male betta

Okay, rule out the females then, :) any other suggestions?

1 male betta or a shrimp tank is the only thing you can really do. Personally I'd go shrimp.

It really depends on what you like. Shrimp tank sounds really awesome, but bettas are great too. D: I think I'd do a shrimp tank myself since I already have a betta.

I would also suggest shrimp, but I'd personally go for the green shrimp. Much more interesting and a little different than what most others have.

I really like my dwarf frogs in my small planted tank.  They get along with my betta fine.

Thanks for the suggestions, guess I'll go the shrimp route. I'll be sure to keep a journal!
