Hi all,

I'm considering starting up a second, bigger (though still not huge) tank. Its a 3ft with a capacity of 109 litres.
I'm not sure what to put in it though, because I love too many fish to choose! Plus I'm fairly new to this so need advice on compatibility and not over stocking for the tank size.

My current list-toppers are:
Discus
Angles
Ram chichilds

(Doesn't have to have all of these three if there isn't room!)

Would also love some ideas on any shoaling fish that would be compatible with anything from the above list, as well as a clean up member for the community. And would a showy betta be ok in there?

I realise that sounds like a lot of fish, and am not planning on all of them, just throwing ideas of things I like out there :)
I'm willing to put the work in to achieving suitable conditions, the water round here is around 7.5 pH from the tap.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I don't think your tank is suitable for discus or angels I'm afraid. Rams would work well, as would some of the other dwarf cichlid species if it's cichlids that you're after :good:

Thanks for the quick reply.
Is it too small for Discus and Angels then? Shame but no problem, wouldn't want them to be unhappy.
Could I put a male betta in with the rams?

the male betta will not go good with the rams
If it is a tall tank, the angelfish will probaly be fine(only if you have one), but it would need to be higher then 2 feet
But try out a m/f combo of german blue rams
and some cardinal tetras would be good with the rams, about 10, with the male/female german blue rams( or bolivian rams)
it is to small for the discus though

It is only 2ft tall so maybe best not to have an angel, thanks for the advice!
