Stocking 60 Galloner

you could get a fair number of female bettas and have a rather large sorority tank- which i think would be very cool! then you could get a school of cories for the bottom. i do not know what other fish would go well the bettas so i suggest posting in the betta forum.

The larger the group of female bettas the better as they can be like tiger barbs somtimes and large groups helps spread out any agression in your group, if you are realy into bettas i'd have at least 10-15females. Apple snails are great but you may need to put some calcium supliments in the water as it helps induce healthy shell group, when there aern't enough minerals of the right type for shell making their shells become brittle and weak, they can even get dents and holes in them and it can even cause the snail to die- the same goes for any other type of reasonably large growing snails. But the apple snails will be great for hoovering up any high protein foods left over in the tank you feed your female bettas  .
What sort of other fish are you into though?
The tank would be good with some small hardy bottom dwelling fish like albino, bronze or peppered corys- you need to keep them in groups of at least 4 though to each species, like 4 albino and 4 peppered corys.
Khuli loachs also make interesting peaceful bottom dwelling aditions to a tank, you can get them in the standard striped patterns and also plain black, they also do best in groups of 4+ and have similar needs to corys :) .

LOVE brackish and large oddballs(like my oscar, african knife etc.), snails and bettas. But for this 60 gallon tank i dont really care what goes into it as im open to all suggestions. Just tank mates must be alright with the snail and female betta as they are in a 12 galloner and hope to move them into the 60 gallon as water changes on the amount of tanks i have is becoming a chore, ( 75,72,60,29,25,10,12 and another 10) soon im selling my 25,12, and one 10 with fully stocked fish to a experineced fish keeper

For some reason, 60G sounds alot bigger than 55Gs.
I'd do a community tanks, those are very fun, and have lots of live bearers and dwarf gouramis, maybe paradise gouramis....
