What is something unique like a oddball fish or something I can put in here? Doesnt have to be a fish but I cant buy anything too expensive...

You could do a pea puffer. They're exclusively freshwater pufferfish, and they also count as oddballs.

I second the pea puffer, you will need access to live snails thou. Some wild Betta's would be nice, some Imbellis or something.

A single dwarf puffer (pea puffer) would be great in a 5 gallon.
