Stocking 40 Gallon Tank

Im wanting to start a freshwater tank in the near future and have been looking around online for stocking ideas but there are so many conflicting opinions!
I was thinking something like below for a 40 gallon/165 litre tank

- 2-3 Powder Blue Dwarf Gouramis - definitely want these to be the feature of my tank
- 6 Glass catfish - also love these
- A school of Harlequin rasbora which i love! (someone tell me how many would be good)
- a couple plecos of some sort
- and maybe eventually a couple butterfly rams

Can i please have some opinions on that + would appreciate any suggestions anyone has!

We need to know the hardness of your water and, ideally, the dimensions of the tank, before we can recommend species.

You can found out the hardness on your supplier's website (it will be there, somewhere!).
