Stocking 17 Gallon Tank

Hey,
I am changing my tropical tank in to a cichlid tank. Probably a malawi or mbuna. Please can you help me. Does anyone have any suggestions of fishh to go in it that are reasonably priced.

the first thing that i thought of was small shelldwellers, I've never kept them, and plus ive never seen them in my lfs, nor do i know how much they cost, but somebody else may be able to help you. Here is a link to the profile:

I dont normaly try to put people off keeping malawi cichlids, infact I encourage it, but your tank is way too small and your heading for disaster.

Being one of the smallest cichlids in the world similis can be kept in a relatively small tank. I wouldn’t recommend anything under 10 gallon though. However do not attempt to keep more than one male in such a small tank.

i think the only african lake fish you could keep would be a tank of shell dwellers i think but am not to sure. other like mbuna the tank is to small for.

Ive had a look at these shell dwellers as they seem to be a favourite of mammafish, as soon as I get my mbuna tank sorted then my 2ft cube tank will become available to let so I may consider purchasing some and see how they go.

i didn't mean it in that way, i ment i know they can be kept in there but i don't know if they are the only african chiclids that can sorry lmao. making me look a fool.
