Well, I've picked the fish that I want for my aquarium, and they are going to be as follows:

29 US Gallons, 31.5"/80cm x 11.8"/30cm x 15.7"/40cm

1 male Dwarf Gourami
1 male, 1 female German Blue Ram(I MIGHT get some Kribs instead)
5 Neon Tetra's
4 Bronze/Albino Cories
2 Mystery Snails
2 Ghost Shrimp
3 Slightly bigger type of Shrimp
3 - 4 random Tetra's

My tank will be partially planted, with some pieces of bog wood and maybe a cave. It will also have sand.

Would these fish cope well together, or have I chosen something wrong?

Looks fine, but you may have some aggression issues between the rams and the gourami. I don't know how aggressive the dwarf gourami's are, but I know the larger species can be a "pita" sometimes and may begin little quarrels with your rams.

Generally best to have a largish group of a single tetra species. If you only get 4, get all the same species.

looks good to me other than what the others have mentioned.... also i have noticed the rams to be a bit territorial so you might want to keep an eye on that.

Alex is right, not only can aggression arise with the gourami's, rams can quarrel with eachother. They are a cichlids and all cichlids are terriotorial to some extent. Many consider rams perfect additions to community tanks because they are smaller and are generally less aggressive than other species of cichlid... but they still will defend their territory very hostily. Best to divide the tank into little zones in which each ram can claim his/her own territory in which both rams will know who owns what and reducethe risk of large scale aggression :good:

ya, by placing decorations, such as plants and bogwood, in certain orientations, it will physically divide up the tank so that if the two get in a quarrel over territory, they can claim their own halves and if there is a visible barrier, they will feel more secure because they can't see the other fish
