This won't be happening for a while now but I'm now thinking I want to do this:

8 Zebra Loaches
12 Kuhli Loaches
8 Black Ruby Barbs
6 Cherry Barbs
12 Harlequin Rasboras

I'd be interested in increasing the amount of barbs and rasboras. What do you guys reckon would be a good number, or am I at my limit already?

Sounds good...if you slowly add more barbs and harlquins over time, I see no problems. You may need to increase amount water removed in weekly changes or stuff more media in your filter, but it should be fine

9 zebra
15 kuhlis
9 ruby
9 cherry
15 harlequin

with about 40% water changes weekly
