My marbled motoro was due to shed it's barb and found it sticking out of the sand today so netted it out (measures just over 6cm):
First pic it is in a sandwhich bag as i hadnt boiled it and didn't want to risk any infection etc.

Think i'm going to pop this in a jar and compare it to the next one it sheds

thats a fair old size? daft question but do they get bigger the ray gets?

so did the new one just grow andpish the old one out?

Aye a decent sized stinger :) Yeh they'll get bigger so when the next one sheds it should be a little bigger.
They have two for a bit then one comes out, not sure how that bit works lol

The barb is like a pin at the end its that sharp so i'd hate to get tagged by one

There has to be something you cool you can make out of them maybe a pipe lol

Put it in a box frame and label it, then put it on the wall!

Hi:) I currently picked up 2 stingray barbs while working part-time in a public aquarium. Currently they're in a platic bag. I thought about jut rinsing them, but should I boil them? Is that the way to do a complete disinfection?

the barb itself would most likely be fine to touch without boiling it but obviously with it being so sharp if it did catch you and it had any venom left on it it would like infect so boiling it is just to make sure :)

Can't you put it under your pillow and see if the tooth fairy falls for it?
