USA,
I got another two corries last night. Well sadly one of them died on the way home, and the other one is just fine. The problem is that its the same as my little grey one and they dont seem to like eachother at all. How do I make them like eachother?

Give them time. They can be shy fish. At first my older Albino would have nothing to do with my other two Albinos but eventually they became a group.

ok, i hope that they do eventually like eachother.

I find that when i introduce any new fish it takes some time before you see the natural behavior...give em time...they will get lonely and school together!

Good luck DR :D

Hi wrs :)

What happened that one died on the way home? If the other one is coming down with an illness, it might be that it's just not up to being social.

Keep an eye on them for a few days and see what happens. ;)

Awww, so sorry you lost one wrs. Doesn't that store have a refund policy? Even Walmart has that, well ours does, if the fish dies within 2 weeks, return the corpse and refund or another fish.

I can only say that when I rescued two teeny cowering baby Corydoras from the store(not even an inch long) they felt kinda lost in the 25 gallon I think. They were healthy alright but boy they're SO much happier since I added another 3 in there. One of the new ones was quite large and one of the babies was like "MOMMY!" and has followed it around devotedly ever since, even perching atop it. That's soooo cute.

Hope yours begin to stick together soon. Mine remind me of a herd of cows contentedly grazing along the bottom together. Of course you could just have a rugged individualist there...one of my corys just loves scooting around on his own, so does one of my black tetras, and one glowlight, maybe just loners by nature? Let us know how it goes ok?

well the one that died on the way home was upsidedown. I think the ride home was to stressful for him. But the other one seem sfine. This morning when I went to check on them they were with eachother but it was only for a while. Molliedos and Polly, the Panada, are with eachother alot more now scence the new guy came in. Well I'm going to the store to return the deceased and Im going to get some more, maybe three, depending if my brother does get his bigger tank, if not just the one, dont want to overcrowd them. The other night all the fish in my tank were all at the bottem corner with eachother, except for the new one, so maybe more would not be good to have.

I have 5 peppered cories and they hang out together, but they don't feel the need to spend all their time together. Just once in a while do they swim in vaguely the same directions. Maybe they just feel safe *shrug*.

Hi wrs :)

I hope you have better luck with a new cory this time.

Please watch carefully when your new fish is being netted at the store. It's easy for one to be injured if it tries to avoid the net and the clerk gets too aggressive. Give it a good looking at before you pay for it.

mine did that :D i had a fat three yr old 4cm albino cory, I put two new 1cm pandas in with it and the pandas tagged after it all week like ducklings after a mother duck :D so sweet

aw, thats so nice, my older little cory, molliedos, hangs around with my panada and its kinda like that as well, except that I think its a male, lol.

inchworm- They didnt hurt the fish, when they scouped it they did it very easily. The person was very nice and asked what I had in my tank and how long it was up. He seemed to care about the fish.

well i just exchanged the dead one for a new one, and it made it all the way home, and now the three are all shoaling, and the panda follows around in the back. Still want to get more though, lol. i love corries,.

Hi wrs :)

That's such good news! I'm glad to learn your corys are finally schooling. They are such nice little fish.

and I think the girls pregante because shes getting big, lol. I was tempted to get some black spotted ones today at Walmart when I went to get a heater for my guppies. They were so cute though. And they had the albino ones. I think I want a tank of just corries, lol.
