Well yea im still waiting for my pair to breed..when shes ready to go hes not , when he is shes not. Not gonna lie its frustrating idk y but it is but im not doing anythig to rush them its just cause fry r so excitig and i cant wait to see what they look like. My male goes to his nest and waits then when the female goes over she runs away when she sees him. She was just waitig there head down and when he came she ran .. I was gonna take her out today but illl give them one more day mainly because they change behaviour all the time and 4 days seems enough.. His nest keeps getting bigger tho..can i take her out and put her in a container where he can see her then release her back in? Will that make him think its a new one?

Tbh i dnt think so i think he will know its her but that shldnt matter if they dont breed until tomoz re condition them

Thats my honest opinion sounds not that right or just keep trying aslong as they are not damagin each other just keep trying food realy gets bettas in the mood si try putting her in her container and feeding frozen food

Whats ur temp and water level/ hight

Hight should be 4" max imo
Temp should be in between 80-82'f

Thats how i bred mine :)

Ooo really the temp i bred my old ones was 76 and now its at 78 but ill kick it up a notch :p and the water level is 5 1/2 inches cant take any away cause his neat might get ruined lol ive been feeding them brine shrimp cubes he doesnt really like it so i give him daphnia and the female loves the shrimp so im getting there hopefully

Well when lights are off bettas tend to sleep like other fish beside the nocturnals so lights on may help

Have u any air tubeing from an air pump if so use this to drain the water this wont disturb his nest as sucktion from it is very slow and the pipe itself is very small :)

Also with the temp bettas prefer hot tanks compaired to other fish like guppies and tetras betta like it at 80'f and are much more active then when kept in cooler, in my own exp mine seemed to be happier :)

Hope they do their deed soon for u mate lol

Thxx soo much! That helps alot. This morning i found the bubblenest to be bigger once again and i have school today so hopefully when i get back they did something..before i went to bed he was trying to get her to follow her to the nest so its getting there:D how r ur fry doing?

They are good i was worried about food to begin with as i couldnt get enough infusoria for them but the inf has cultivated in my tank with the fry so they get a constant food supply so i dont need to feed them my self as foods already there :) lol but they are getting bigger as can see their front fins/arms and tail fins so hope fully they will griw and grow

I suppose they are eating considering they have been free swimming now for 6days and they live do they must be eating something :)

its been said u can breed bettas in a 4-8 inches of water range, i read that somewhere in an artical.

It's usually reccomended for 6 to 7 inches of water
ahhhh, i see, my water that i am cycling right now in the breeding tank for the bettas, is almost 6 inches, should i add more water then? and make it somewhere in the 6-7 range?

Well i will give them another day because shes darker now and hes dancing more than ever and not just biting her and they almost wrapped today so ill leave em in a little longer his bubblenest is almost the size of the cup hes building it in its huge lol

My males bubble nest was only a bubble thick and put the bubbles together maybe 2" long but my female like it so thats good :)
