this is the problem as i have said befor in some other posts my gouramis kill plants by pulling them up riping them to bits and all plants are dead in a few weeks sighs i tryed just leting the plants float like was surgested i try cuz i was told they like floating plants but as soon as i put the plants in they went and started to eat the plants roots so i thort to put it under the rocks they tend to kill the plant a bit slower that way ......but as i tryed to put it under the rocks the big moon light gouramis comes over and tryed to pull the plant by the roots away from me  any idears how to stop the plant crazed gouramis oh i have 14 gouramis liveing in a realy big tank and all like each other alot and 10 of them are males and they have been like this for 2 years thats why i cant fill there tank with plants like i want to the fish kill there

Hmmm....since they really do seem to enjoy destroying your plants maybe you should try silk plants instead. Plastic ones tend to be cheaper but they can tear the fins etc so silk plants would be best. With any luck they won't pick on them like real ones and you'll at least look like you have a planted tank.

:D i guess i was hopeing there was a fix all problem magic pill u could give them :hyper: :hyper: :p  but i guess that would be no fun

There are a few plants your gouramies won't eat - amazon sword, java fern, usualy java moss and, perhaps a few others. It's mainly trial and error realy :p

Ahem, actually I had Amazon sword in with my fry and they destroyed it. Granted it took them a good few months but nevertheless.
And now my cichlids have decided the few plants in their tank taste good. *doh* :X Good job my adult gourami let theirs grow like mad or I'd be forced to actually buy more! :look:
Hugs,
P.
P.S:I don't know if you're in the UK or not but I could send you a few good sized cuttings from my gourami tank. See if they destroy the plants mine leave alone? Never know...

here anuther qestion do gouramis eat blood worms

Not sure I'm good with plants. You could try in the planted section. They would know where to find them and possibly even online places that will ship them. :/
Bloodworm...oh yes, they love bloodworm. Mine have been having some daily recently since the frozen stuff comes in blocks too big for my two dwarf puffers I always end having plenty left for others. Mine also adore live brine shrimp, well live anything within reason. Have also fed them frozen (defrosted) mussel, daphnia and shelled peas.
