Still Have Nitrite

Hi,

I have been cycling my 25 gallon tank with 8 danios (didn't know about fishless cycling until finding this site). I have
0 ammonia, 1.0 nitrite and 5 nitrate testing with api master test kit. the ammonia has been down for a week and the nitrite has been up for about two weeks. I'm sure I'm just impatient but it seems like it is taking forever. Also, I did have to treat the fish for ich. I treated with rid-ich during the second week. could this have stalled out my cycle?

Their website says it doesn't harm the biological filter so that should be fine. The nitrite takes longer to drop as the bacteria that process it are slower to develop. Just keep doing water changes to keep it down.

Glad to hear it is just my impatience and not something wrong with the cycle.
