Its been 1 week now and my tank is still very cloudy. I have done water changes and turnt up my filter to max flow hoping that would help but it hasn't. I have plants and rocks in the tank with a peice of Bogwood, The plants i have are tied to small peices of wood that i got from the local fish store so not sure what wood it is. The plants that are attached to it are Java fern and Annubias. The rocks also are from the LFS and i have had these sinse i first had the tank, they are white in colour but not sure if they are the cause. I'm thinking of taking them out with the wooded plants and see if the cloudiness drops then. I also have black sand as the substrate which was washed.

I was told it might be my tank blooming but now im not so sure.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :good:

if you have only set up your tank for 1 week now then it's only natural that your tank is still very cloudy.I bought my larger tank in november and it took about 6 months to finally clear up, only cause I made mistakes though, if you leave everything be and don't keep changing everything then your tank will settle, in a month or 2 your tank will be crystal clear. When I cycled my tank I added fish to help it cycle and mature faster but you can cycle it without fish supposedly, takes longer though I think.

Thanks Buddy for your reply, unfortunately my tank has been running for about 4 months its just started to become cloudy 1 week ago. It was always clear but like i said 1 week ago decided to cloud up. :good:

how good do you clean your sponges? sometimes if you give them to good a clean it messes the bacteria up in the tank and it blooms all over again.is it a white cloudiness? also have you tested your water? could be that something in your water levels have changed a bit, think it's nitrate or something I can't remember.
if you write everything about your tank then I am sure if I can't help somebody else def can.Just tell us how many fish you have, temperature, how big your tank is and if you have added anything new to the tank.

Well to be honest i use tank water then i just shake the filter in the water without squeezing it until all the cloging has gone, then i place it back into the filter.

I think i know what it was. I purchased a mossball for the tank about a week ago i have now taken it out and already its clearing up. When i spueezed it out alot of green colouring came out of it so hopefully that was the problem. If not i'll be back
