I had been wondering why Steve's tail started coming away in chunks recently. I thought it might have been bacterial finrot but I thought that it was odd that it was healing nicely after every chuck. Tonight I've seen the real reason why...
I just put some cucumber in for all the critters and obviously everyone starts swarming to it. The panda corys and Steve get there about the same time and both try and have a nibble at it but then what I saw next was a bit worrying. While Steve was staring at it before taking a bite, one of the corys was scavenging and sucked Steve's tail into his mouth and ripped a chunk off!
What on earth do I do about this situation? I know I could put the cucumber on a string to try and prevent at least some of the confusion but what do I do with the corys' sinking discs? Steve's got rather a taste for those. I don't want to have to separate them if I can help it. Any ideas what I can do?
