Did you watch it just now? :-(

His father's speech "the animals have lost their best friend - and so have I." - had me in tears, as did many of the other speeches and clips.

He was such a nice guy, and more than that, he was a good guy, we really lost something special.

I still find it hard to think he's gone.

honestly i would have took my life for his. he did so much for this earth and the animals living on it. he was my hero when i was younger and i got up every morning in the summer and watched his show till 3:00 in the afternoon. he didn't diserve to die. why can't these child molestors and murders die instead of cancer patients and people helping this earth!?

Ya know, I read an article yesterday on msn about tons of newly discovered fish off New Guinea in the South Pacific and I thought to myself that the sort of conservation this is in need of is right up Steve's alley, but sadly he is no longer around to be a voice for the animals :( It was an awakening moment, he's really gone.

I'd like to see his memorial, was it on the discovery channel or something?

oh and heres the link to the article I mentioned...

They broadcast it live on Animal Planet, I hope they'll repeat it because of the time difference, it was on very late here.

It was lovely to watch =)
I must admit that some of the famous people that had a 'speech' really didn't make much sense to me. I mean, Justin Timberlake that had been with him for 1 day. It seemed like more of a publicity stunt rather than actual in memory of him. I'd much rather have seen some of the people that he worked with say some extra words (if that makes any sense)

I couldn't believe how good Bindi was though. Just her usual happy smiling and always friendly self. She seems to understand everything that went on pretty well, and yet she stood there talking about her dad without shedding a tear. She's one tough girl alright.

I've been crying throughout pretty much the whole thing. Especially when they'd zoom in on Terri. Even though she wore glasses it was so obvious what a hard time she was having. I feel so aweful for her.

All in all it was fantastic to watch though

I felt so bad, they had screens up outside to zoo, my family didn't get tickets but they went to watch outside but I was at camp. :(
