Steve, father of 2 is killed by a sting-ray, whilst filming a documentary about the great barrier reef. Steve was struck in the heart by the sting-ray, then was taken to paramedics, but was too late. Hes death was a shock to Europe, America and the whole world and he will be missed by everyone.

In loveing memory of 'Steve Iwrin'

I was gobsmacked when I heard, I always thought a croc or snake would get him, not something in the ocean like a stingray.

We'll miss him by gosh :-(

Steve will be sadly missed :/

My thoughts are with Terri and his two young kids Bindi Sue and Bob, such and amazing (if crazy!) guy who has done so much as an ambassador between the general public and exotic animal keepers, breeders, conservationists and enthusiasts :good:

Rest in Peace Stevo :*

I know, he has helped change peoples opinion of the vast array of the worlds animals. He will be missed so much. I do feel for terri and the kids. RIP Steve.

Truly will be missed the amount of kids that have learnt so much from him including me is unbelievable.
One of his friends/producer did say at least he died what he loved doing and im sure he would say 'crocs rule'
Very sad day
RIP steve
