How often is it that you get a sterile guppy male, i have him in with four females and apart from a curious squiggle near them he dos'nt seem interested. help would love to breed him. he is a leopard lyetail guppy, green and blue shimmer.

Its not a common problem. but usualy caused by hormone feeding females to make the get a higher price as a male, but luckerly few guppy farms are doing this.

I don't think fish can be gay lol. I think thats something solely due to mammals like humans, apes and koalas.

with them being so young the chances are that the females have already dropped fry is high, you wouldnt have noticed it so much in a first time guppy pregnancy so just give it time, most guppies breed in private so dont be too worried about it. before long you will find some fry.
its very rare to have infertile male guppy

The females are fine they have had between them at least 30 fry which survived now in a separate tank, however they were pregnant already, so want my male to replace the sperm packets, as you say have to wait and see. cheers

if he's not to young, you could get another male to raise his competitiveness and desire to mate which is what i often do and has never failed me but if you're doing selective breeding this might not be the choice for you..
