i recently got two sterba corydoras and they have been in my tank for little under 48 hours, im pretty sure i have one male and one female and they are chasing each others pretty quick across middle and bottom of tanks and one (i believe to be male) is literally resting with part of 'his' body on top of the female, they wont leave one another for a second and looks like when livebearers mate side by side sort of behaviour. is this breeding behaviour?

It's more likely they're adjusting to their new home, corys often swim up & down the glass when settling in.
When spawning they make a 'T' postion with the female taking sperm from the male then dropping the fertilised eggs into her pelvic fins, she'll then stick the eggs to the glass or underside of a leaf.
Do you have just the two? they really need to be kept in groups of 6+ & for breeding more males than females is best

Yes, corys spawn in a 'T' shape.  The first signs are chasing and then the female will "butt" the male's side.  It's very fun to watch.  It's best to have the ratio of 2-3m:1f.
