My female bristlenose just swam across the front of the tank with an incredibly long (4-5"), super thin (thinner than a human hair), white poop trailing behind her.
That's indicative of non-bacterial internal parasites right?
What med would be best for that?
There's no shrimp in there at the moment, and I can run carbon after treating.

I've got Interpet No.9 but that says Anti-Internal Bacteria, which if it's a non-bacterial parasite ins't going to be much good I guess.
I can go out 1st thing tomorrow and get whatever med would be best.

Edit To Add:
I've got Sterazin by Waterlife.
Now one site says it's not safe with shrimp and snails. Shrimp are still in old tank, but I've got my ramshorn and 3 of my nerites in the new tank and would rather not kill them off.
However, the waterlife site does not mention snails. It says not safe with "crustaceans (i.e. Crabs, Shrimps), echinoderms (i.e. Sea Urchins, Starfish), s/w Sharks, Rays, Piranha, Sturgeon and Sterlets" but doesn't mention snails...

Long stringy white poo can be constipation, bacterial infection, internal parasites.

The meds not that good on internal parasites it only controls them.

It could be just constipation. What do you feed the fish?
is the fish bloated or thin.

Not thin, not bloated.
Food has included algae wafers, cucumber (although they didn't seem interested in that), tropical granules, catfish pellets, micro wafers.
This morning I skipped feeding everyone and have given them mushed up, deshelled peas.
There's plenty of bogwood which I understand plecs need too.

It wasn't like stringy poop that I've seen before this was really fine.

Will give (defrosted) frozen foods tomorrow :good:
Thanks Wilder, I knew I shouldn't do anything until you came online - you're like the best fish health encylopedia ever!

Well, today the poop is still long (compared to what I'm used to seeing from my little fish), but looks like regular poop.
I'm guessing that's probably "normal" for a plec seeing as they are supposed to be little poop machines?

It's just the peas flushing him throw.
Keep a close eye on him for changes.
Good Luck.
