I just got back from a weeks vacation and visited 2 nice aquariums that are worth your time if you happen to be in the areas. One is the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans and the other is the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. I liked the one in TN better but only because of the way they had it set up/laid out. You actually viewed the largest tanks on 3 different levels (3 story building). Both had a lot of tanks and a lot of very big fish and snakes. I wish I lived closer to them. I'm sure I would be a season pass holder.

I have been to the one in Chattanooga. Very nice set up. I have also heard there is a nice one in Gattlinburg TN, so if anyone makes a trip to Chatanooga, go through Gatlinburg too.

In Chatanooga all the tanks were set up to mimic natural environments. Woo, they had this sturgeon in the Volga River display...geez! the thing was HUGE!

It was years ago that I went, before I even became fish-crazy. I still enjoyed it. I have always liked fish on some level.) Unfortunately, none of my pitures came out. The place is too dark for photographs, really.

I wish I hadn't had to move farther away. I too would probably have a season pass.

I have never been to New Orleans. I have wanted to go for a long time. I will not forget to go to the aquarium when I do go.

Grrrr..........

The closest Public aquariums is the one in MOA, and that one isn't very good.
I wish they had more up here.......
Anyone from MN or wisconson know of any good public aquariums besides the one in MOA?

I liked that part of it too. And they still have a huge beluga sturgeon in that tank. I'm sure it is the same one. I liked the large marine and fresh water tanks that you view on every floor. You got to see the fish that were in every level of the tank. Also they had 2 huge green moray eels that were swimming from on rock formation to another. Was interesting to see them in the open water rather than just their head sticking out of a hole.

my fave ever is monteray bay aquarium. Its resposible for my fish obsession nowadays and i love it! bit far for a day trip for me though....america...

My first aquarium trip was to Marineland in Florida when I was about 8 to 10 years old. That was a llllloooooonnnnnggggg time ago. The one thing that I really remember about that was the huge sea bass (may have been a grouper) they had.
