Starting With Cichilds! Help!

Hey Everyone! This is going to be my first experience with cichlids. I wanted to know what a good type of starter cichlids would be. I went to the fish store today to look at some cichlids that I think would look very nice in my tank. I have a 20g and a 30g. I dont want alot, just a few to make a nice, small community. These are the ones I have been looking at:


Red Shoulder Peacock, TTurqoise Jewel Cichlid, Jack Dempsey, Oscar's, Green Terror, Red Terror, anytype of Parrot Hybrids, and then some tetras like Bucktooth Tetra or Sabretooth Tetra.


Im looking for info here, so please let me know from experience what you have had work, or please, suggest other types of cichlids. This fish store was just one of many I can go too. Thanks!!

All these fish are central and south american maybe apart from the peacock you need to post in the other forum but ill tell you now that a jd, oscar, green terror, red terror and parrots will not go into a 30g tank not even 1 on its own.
