Starting Up

Hello all!
we decided to get a tropical fish tank [well my wife decided, but i had to pay for it and most probably i will be the one looking after it]
At the moment she keeps 2 gold fishes in this small 5 litre Orb tank, but wants bigger one and tropical. So i have couple questions and it would be nice to hear some advise/anwers.
We went for Juwel Vision 180 - what do you guys think, is this tank good choice?
Some people suggested reflectors for lights - Juwel Vision 180 comes with 2 x 35w is that enough for plants to be happy? Price for reflectors is about £3-4 so its not that expensive, shall i get them?
Air difuser - is it an essential thing to have in your tank?
To carry out tank cycle, would those 2 gold fishes do the trick [heater will be switched off, for that time]? I'll be giving them away afterwards to my work mates daughter, shes got 3 goldfish already.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Being in the US, I'm not familiar with the Juwel products but I'm sure someone will comment on it. As far as the cycle is concerned, they would work fine for a fish in cycle but if you are giving them away anyway, you could go the fishless cycle route too. Check out the Beginners Resource Center as there is a wealth of information there for beginners.

MOD NOTE: Before this topic goes down the wrong road, please keep comments and replies on topic and no comments on the tank the goldies are currently in or other issues related to that. He is already looking to correct what I'm sure they see as a beginner oversight.
