as you most may know I had my cichlids to go, now they gone to a new home im stocking community.
heres what I got so far.
150G 6' 2' 2'

2 blue rams
rummy nose tetras
4 bn's 2 which are babys from my breeding pair
1 common pleco
sword tails
mollies
platys
2 talking catfish

what im hoping to get.

6 discuses
6 angels
20 cardinal tetras
9 clown loaches
8 rams (to get breeding pair)
more swords mollies and platys.

what you think?

6x2x2 is 180 gallons - US gallons anyway and generally thats what this forum uses so I would probably go based around that idea.

From the list of fish you have I think you need to split your choices as there are a lot of temperature variances on there - mainly when you start talking about the Discus and Rams.

The splits I would work around are

what im hoping to get.

6 Discus
6 Angels - tough to include here but I have seen a fair few examples of them working in these high temperature demands
20 Cardinal Tetras
20 Rummy Nose Tetras
10 Blue/Gold Rams - including your current two so you get a few pairs

Sterbai Cories are a good choice in high temperature tanks as well but it would be worth finding out which other species would work. I think some species of plec thrive the high temperatures as well but Im not sure which ones.

Don't underestimate how hard Discus can be though - its worth reading a hell of a lot about it to be prepared for what they need - you are always best of buying adults as youngsters are very hard to raise and if not raised properly stunt very easily it can be cause even through diet and water quality.

Tank 2

6 Angels
Sword Tails, Mollies, Platies - mix of species and colours to make a vivid live bearer tank - numbers are hard to pin down because they are always breeding but it will be your responsibility not to let them get massively out of control.
9 Clown Loaches
4 Bristlenoses
1 Common Pleco
2 Talking Catfish

This second tank would be a cooler tank which all of the above fish would thrive in, you would probably get away with the Cardinal and Rummy Nose Tetras in there as well. Only thing I would say is in a big tank like that Live Bearers and Tetras could be a little boring - I get that your intention was to add the Angels and/or Discus as the centre piece but they are probably worth rethinking if you wanted to add any other American Cichlids like Rainbow Cichlids or Blue Acaras some of the rarer Acaras are nice as well like Yellows, Krobias etc. You could even look at things like Geophagus or Satanoperca etc.

I can't be of much help, but I will add that Angels make excellent livebearer population controllers. I have two F swordtails and one M, and I haven't even ever seen a baby with my two angels, even though the two F are clearly pregnant pretty dang often. :)

hi thanks for your replys, well discuses are out the window as the shop I ordered them from called to say they wont have any for a while, so, angels, rams it is. but I cant remember what I ordered but they said they will put more fish in to replasce the discuses, but they said they will put fish in that will live with rams ect. so atm not too sure till they arrive tommorrow

Ya know, I'd far rather it were my choice which fish I stocked, not what the LFS wanted to get rid of. Yes, I am an old cynic.

Totally agree with thelockman!! I would never let an LFS suggest stock for my tank...

Same here, especially for a tank of that size. Where I think most of us on here don't have the opportunity (or space) to have a tank of that size. If you really want a fish try your luck ordering online (never worked for me). Or, if you live by a big city try looking around there. I live close to SF and there's tons of fish stores that I never even knew existed.

hi, the person who works there is a good friend of mine, he is very knowledgeable with fish. but I do understand what you all said :) when they arrive tommorrow ill let them settle in and then take some pictures for you all.
