Morning all, well I'm taking the dive into Co2 and going for my first planted tank. I'm going to start small for now and use my spare 70l tank. Now I'm going to use my APS 1000l/h external filter, will this create enough circulation. I have a t8 light starter unit but which bulb is best ?

Also could anyone recomend a good substrate. Ive had alook on The Green Machine but don't really no what I'm looking for.

I'm going for a natural looking scape so I'm in the process of researching plants. The only problem I have is with the tank it's self, it has a juwel textured background in black so I have to find things to compliment that. I'm in the process of collecting all the components which will take me a week or two so I'll start a journal when everything is here

Bulb wise, providing it's White light and above 20 watts you should be fine, your filter will have around 600lph once the media is in so that's good enough flow, just make sure your inlet and outlet are side by side to get the best circulation. As for substrate haveva look on Aqua Essentials as they're cheaper and Florabase is great on there, I use it and it's fantastic for the plants and ease of planting is great to with it.
