please tell me what to do i dont want to kill my fish i have survival stuff that elimnates new tak syndrome and some water stuff to take out chlorine and reduce fish stress and some other things. please help im looking on doing this tommorow

I would put em in buckets with sponge filters and tank water until the new tank is cycled. Tryin to throw em in the same day could kill em..

my sig is all the fish i have. i have a 10 gallon with filter and heater and light to put them in. my fish are in my room. i dont quite understand the question

I should have spotted the signature. :*) Are you planning to move some fish from the existing 20g in your sig to a new 10g that needs cycled first? How long have you had the 20g set up and running ? What stuff is it exactly that you've bought to eliminate new tank syndrome etc? Sorry about the questions, but it'll make it easier for people to help if they know exactly what you have now and what you're wanting to do ? :D

ok i am not starting another tank i would just use the 10g one to put the fish in while i would start my other tank over. i have had my tank running for a couple months. it is called MaraCare tm I survival medoa protects fish form highlevels of ammonia nitrite and nitrate. i am mostly adding rocks.

are water testings at petstores accurate i think i had my ammonia done there once

Could you move the gravel and filter (or at least the filter sponges, if it's a built in filter) from the 20g to the 10g while you sort the 20g out? That way you'd keep most of the good bacteria with the fish.

That said, if you have the rocks and stuff in advance, it won't take too long to re-aquascape the tank. Maybe if you did a partial water change at the same time, you could leave the fish in while you add your new rocks and move things in the tank around. I get the impression that folk manage to change things around in their tanks quite a bit without taking the fish out, but I'm afraid I don't know which would stress the fish less.

I don't have the experience to advise you about the chemicals you have, although I know that many people on the forum are reticent to use any of the Ammonia locking chemicals in their tanks because I believe it can interfere with the bacteria colony and might give false water test results. Have you used the MaraCare already in the 20g?

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will post soon and help you out.

i havent put any maracare stuff in my tank i havent started to do any thing to my tank yet. i have alot of rocks to put in so i dont think i could leave the fish in
