starting a marine tank (1st try)

im just wondering what kind of filter would do good for a 32 gallon marine set-up? (or would any work tha cna handle a 32 gallon) .. id rather have a HOB then 1 that sits inside if it's possible

the tank is empty right now so im working on 1 thing at a time

well on a 32G you kinda need a protein skimmer but if you really want a hob filter go with a cascade 100 for 20-70 gall. if not bigger w/o a pretein skimmer.

I would use an Emperor 270, take out the bio-wheel, and add a skimmer.

well i guess you could use a skilter (protein skimmer and a filter) but its not worht the money (around 30$ adn you could get a cheap protein skimmer for that...)
