Starting A Journal. No Pics For A While.

I think ill try and do it asap also. Im going to a crappy fish store tonight but they sell starter kits for good prices so ill have a look.
 
Get if you can, but I wouldn't actually trun the extra light on until you are ready to start the EI and have the plants etc ready, otherwise you'll get major aglae issues.
 
No i wont. Ive also worked out prices.

Tank: Already own
Filtration: Already own
Lighting: £65
CO2: £110 (Birthday Present from parents)
Substrate: Already own
Fertilisation: £25
Fish:Will add gradually with money towards end of summer holidays.
Decor: Purchsed.
Plants: Dont know how much i will need really.

So i need about £100 before i can even plant :lol: . I have £40 sitting next to me. Also i get a GCSE's present. Plants will be payed for with other money i recieve for my birthday. Im selling fish for £50 and have 40kg of ocean rock for sale.

So hope fully i wont need to break into my defenceless little bank balance.

One thing, how come you're spending £40 on ferts? Seems alot, you getting them from Aquaessentials?

What substrate you going to use?

£65 also sounds quite a bit for just adding one tube? Or are you going to replace all other tunes at the same time?

I would allow another 30-40quid for plants, its quite a big tank if I remember rightly?

I can purchase the following items for £65 total if anybody knows a cheaper place please speak up:

Also the i will be getting the 1000g of Pottasium nitrate and 1000g of Potassium Phosphat £26 . The original price inluded the potassium sulphate also but i probably wont need it now. And i need the API leaf zone or simalar product.

Hopefully im getting everything right the first time. :) :) :)
 
Oh right cool, I wouldn't get leaf zone, get the Aquaessentials trace mix, its much better and got other important nutrients in it, cheaper too!

Will see what I can do re those prices leave it with me for a day ;)

Haha Well I'll help where I can, Im still very new to planted tanks myself! Only been running an EI tank since March!

EDIT - I'm sure others will post once the tank is up and running :)
