about 3/4 days ago some of my fish started to rub against decor etc and one of my blue rams looked really poorly but there were no obvious signs of ich or flukes. i bought treatments for both and guessed at ich.... and put the first treatment in the tank for ich as whatever it is seemed to be spreading fast to most of my fish and i wanted to catch it early, my wife added the second treatment in today and when i got home from work i noticed white flossy stuff on the gills of one of my rams and on the dorsal fin of another also a couple of red marks on the fishes side. now i am leaning towards it being flukes as there are still no white spots on any fish......

the treatment i have started is 4 doses over 6 days so i am halfway through... i have to leave it 48 hours before doing a different treatment for flukes after the ich treatment is finished and it states that i must finish the course once started.

will my fish be ok, having treated them possibly for the wrong thing?

am i ok to do flukes treatment in 48 hours after ich treatment?

will my fish last that long?

If it is flukes the whitespot med won't treat them.
It sounds like the fish have a bacterial infection on top.

I would do a water change and add some black carbon.
Buy some wormer plus online. As you can use other meds with it.
You will have to use the wormer plus once a week for four weeks.
Add a bacterial med with the wormer plus. Anti internal bacteria med by interpet.

my 4 rams all have red along the bottom of the dorsal fins and 2 have a red spot on thier sides now, does this help with dignostic? would you still advise the same treatment? i also picked up a bottle of waterlife sterazin and a bottle of myxazin, would the sterazin be similar to the interpet anti internal bacteria as it says its suitable for gill/ body flukes and internal worms?

Use the sterazin.
But you can't mix a bacterial med with it.
You will have to use the bacterial med after the med course has finished.
Good Luck.

thanks wilder, i have took your advice and ordered some wormer plus and interpet anti internal bacteria med so i will start treating asap. thanks again, i hope they recover ok.....
