what should the nitrate be it has went from 5 to 20 only since i have added a new achilles tang

thanks scott

Nitrates should be really low for an SPS tank. I think 20 is too high. They need extra flow and do best generally with metal halides.

Man good luck w/your achilles. They have poor survival rates.

<10 you can get away with SPS. Best to be as close to zero as possible though
Hi
Added a nitrate filter on satarday the nitrate is 0/5 new pic on the achilles tang is now doing really good coloured up nicley and white spot is all gone

thanks scottt

hi ben if you do go for 1 make sure u have a uv steriliser and no sand in the tank for the first 3 months thats the easy way for keeping the once your ready to get 1 give me a call a time and i will get u a deal on one

thanks mate, it wont be for a while yet. I would deffinatly need another new tank!
hi ben
you and your tanks why not get a small one about 2/3" and stick it in your 400l tank before you upgrade and it is best if you put it in as the last tang

regards scott
