Spraybar Positioning

Hello all,

not something I've ever given much consideration to before but is there an optimum position for a spray bar return from an external filter?

As I see it the options are

1. at the same end as the intake, pointing to the opposite end of the tank
2. at the opposite end of the tank to the intake, pointing towards the inlet
3. around halfway along the tank, pointing from back to front

Any opinions appreciated!

Mines number 2 of your options, has been for many years. ive had no problems
