is it better to use spray paint or use a brush with paint to paint a background on a glass tank?

i plan on painting a black background on a 60 g tank.

it doesn't make much difference if you use a brush or spray can. Use whatever is easiest for you.

actually it would be more convenient to use a brush.

consider the case where a 100 gallon fish tank that is full needs to be drained and taken to the garage to be spray painted as opposed to just brushing or rolling paint while the tank is still in the room

I thought there would be a difference, but in the end I painted with the brush from the tester pot and even though it looks awful from the back, you'd never know from the front!

I painted mine, no problems at all.
I agree with the above post though, from the back it looks terrible lol
Looks spot on from the front though

blackboard paint no brush marks and easy to remove if you change your mind

i got black bin bags taped to the back of 2 of my tanks just incase i want to upgrade again and sell them on
i thought not everyone would like a permanant black backround

As long as you use emulsion paint and not gloss or glass paint it's easy to remove! Just get a razor blade and scrape it off like you would with your algae scraper! Any left over and a scouring pad and warm water will remove it.
