I have a spotted Zebra Danio whom is giving my livebearers (ballon molly and two Lyre Swordtails) a hard time! He has been nipping at the male Swordtail all day, I have no idea what to do with the offender. Do you think things will settle down soon or should I "jail" this guy?

Sounds like the Danio is trying to gain dominance over the tank. One thing you could try is to jail this guy and move things around in the tank but chances are he will return to his old ways very soon. Danios are great but very zippy :p

Tell us the tank size and other occupants.

Danios take aggression out amongst themselves, and should therefore be kept in groups. Not to mention that they get stressed otherwise.

You have to get rid of the danio or add more if the problem persists.

And is this a leopard danio or a spotted zebra?

This is a spotted Zebra Danio.

Tank Occupants include:
-2 Lyre Swordtails
-2 Spotted Zebra Danios
-1 Ballon Molly
-1 Male Betta

This is a 40 gallon freshwater community tank.

How big of a school for the danios? 4 or 5?

Danios do best in a school of at least 6, perhaps 8 if you are looking to really cut down on the aggression. That should do the trick! :D

Excellent.... Will Spotted Danios school with long finned Zebra Danios?

Just a follow up on this one.

I found a great campanion for this danio, another one that is just like him. Same size and build and equally as active. They have been chasing each other around my tank all day/night.... At one point they were in the middle of the tank chasing each others tails in circles. I'm so happy =)

Hopefully they will keep each other busy and not decide to gang up on my other fish now!
