well can i keep a spotted manderin goby with a normal manderin goby

in my 100 gallon

i already own a spotted manderin but can i have a normal one

i know these guys dont like there own kind but i thought with them being different colours and its a big tank
i thought i might get away with it

Don't see why you shouldn't be able to keep a male of one and a female of the other :good: although, not sure you have enough live rock to sustain two? They need about 90lbs each unless they are feeding on frozen as well

it's easy to tell if you have a male - they have a tall, sort of spiked dorsel fin, the females don't :good:

So, you haven't got enough lr for two - would you supplement with a pod culture? and long run hope to weann on to frozen as well?

well if i got one id be getting one that eats frozen brine but i think i have a lot of pods already as very ocasionally i see one dead floating and the clown eats it i also see them swim about
um i dont know ill see what sex mine is

Thanks for the link. I knew I remembered reading about someone who kept multiple mandarins in the same tank but couldn't remember who it was. I think the females are ok together its just the males that will fight (from what I have read, not from personal experience).

umm ill probably see what sex mine is see if i can get a normal manderin of the oppisite sex and find a jar
if mines a female should i get another female
as are they like bettas females get along males dont
or should they be oppisite

I am not sure here, but my male goes into show pose at his reflection, it may be that it is only males of the same colour that will fight. Not 100% sure though.

Pairs may be different too.

well ive had him/her for about 9 months but hes been in my 100 gallon for about 3 days

I wouldn't be worried about keeping a pair, the only problem is Bae you really haven't got enough live rock to sustain two mandys.

You would have to make sure they are feeding on enriched frozen and woo hoo if they will eat pellet :good: the only thing to do is find out the sex of yours and then if you have a male, although I think you would have noticed his fin by now then get a female that someone is selling from their tank and you know they are eating enriched frozen or pellet (don't trust a lfs unless you have a good contact)

Patience is a virtue :p
