Spots On Tail

Laurence has what look like two raised white lumps/spots at the base of his tail, they look as though (if I could hold him still) I'd be able to pick them off.

What could they be?

I have dosed his tank with salt at the "tonic" level and with Aquamaster "Multicure" which contains:

0.400mg/ml malachite green
4.00mg/ml methylene blue
2.00mg/ml acriflavine

No I don't think it's whitespot, there are only two and they're quite big.

Sounds like Fin fungus...

If so, increase aeration and water changes. This is usually due to stale water movement.
Jungle Fungus Guard should clear it up.

my betta had exactly what sounded like yours has...i was kinda worried but i gave him a salt bath and its gone now.

What's in the Jungle Fungus Guard? I've never seen anything called that before.

It is a medicine in the USA that kills fungus. Fungus will be killed with an aquarium salt dip as well. I know that aquarium salt is much safer that most medicine so that is what I try first and if there is no improvement in 24 hours I use medicine. I increase the temp by a couple of degrees. If it is white spot or as we call it ick the salt and increase in temp will work as well.
