I have had this Betta for 3 months. He is in an Aqueon 2.5 gal aquarium. The other day I decided to put a small heater in his tank.I checked back on him to find the water temp at 76 degrees. I leaned over to look at my Betta and he came flying out of the corner of his tank. He hit the side of his tank and continued going back and forth hitting his tank. I figured he must have seen his reflection in the glass tube of the heater and got spooked. I immediately removed the heater, which seemed to be working properly. From that time, 6 days ago, he has not eaten and doesn't swim around his tank. He comes up for air and that's about it. He stays under his bridge. He just ignores his food. He still has his color, but does swim a little different. Is there anything I can do? Any suggestions will be appreciated. I hate to just watch him die.

probably just didnt like something new in his tank, pop it back in and see if he does it again, plus bettas are alot more active when kept in a heated tank :good:

Thanks for the comment. I was just about to exchange some of his water and put the heater back in.
I will let you all know how it goes.

Hi
It has been 40 days since my post. My Betta has never recovered. He stays at the top, rear of his tank. Today he actually moved to the front, stayed at the top, not swimming around. When I approached the tank he moved to the back again. He has no interest in eating at all. He used to love Bio-Gold pellets & would go crazy (to be fed) when I walked by his tank. That has all changed now. When I try to feed him now the food just floats by him. I tried feeding him blood worms with no results. I know he must be eating something, but I never see him eat. I figured he would have passed by now. His tank stays crystal clear at 76 degrees. Anyone else had this experience??

Thanks

Ron
